Nigerian Polytechnic lecturers have suspended their indefinite
strike currently in its third month; and agreed to return to work. The
lecturers, members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics,
ASUP, agreed to suspend the strike on Tuesday afternoon, the National
Publicity Secretary of the Union, Clement Chiamen, told newsmen.
The ASUP Chairman, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, who also confirmed this report said that the decision was made by the National Executive Committee of the Union as a result of the intervention of the Joint committee of the Senate and House of Representative on Education.
