Alhaji Ademola Fashola, father of the Lagos state governor,
Babatunde Raji Fashola, is dead. Alhaji Fashola died this morning in
Lagos after a brief illness. He was 79. Reports revealed that he has
been ill and was flown last year to the United States for medical
treatment in the heat of the Lagos Doctors' strike.
Officials of the Lagos state government said Mr. Fashola, who is
currently at Umrah in Suadi Arabia, is saddened by the news of his
father's death.
The governor plans an emergency return to Lagos to attend the burial.
